Publication Ethics

This statement describes the publication ethics of all parties involved in the process of publishing articles in our journal, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher, namely the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Al-Qolam Malang (UQM).

Publication and Author Ethics

  1. All submitted articles undergo a rigorous peer-review process by at least two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
  2. The review process follows a blind peer review
  3. The factors considered during the review process include the originality of the content, the degree of novelty, the relevance of the material, and its alignment with the mission and scope of the journal.
  4. Possible editorial decisions include acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.
  5. If authors are invited to revise and resubmit their manuscripts, there is no guarantee that the revised submission will be accepted.
  6. Rejected manuscripts will not be reconsidered for further review.
  7. Acceptance of articles is subject to legal requirements in force regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
  8. No research may be published in more than one publication.

Author Responsibilities

  1. Authors must declare that their manuscript is their original work.
  2. Authors must state that the manuscript has not been previously published elsewhere.
  3. Authors must confirm that the manuscript is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  4. Authors must actively participate in the peer-review process.
  5. Authors are obliged to provide corrections or retractions if significant errors are discovered.
  6. All authors listed in the article must have made significant contributions to the research.
  7. Authors must declare that all data presented in the article are real and authentic.
  8. Authors must inform the editor of any potential conflicts of interest.
  9. Authors must properly acknowledge all sources used in the preparation of their manuscript.
  10. Authors must report any errors they discover in their published article to the editor promptly.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  1. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all information related to the manuscripts and treat them as privileged information.
  2. Reviews should be conducted objectively, without personal criticism of the author.
  3. Reviewers should express their views clearly and support them with appropriate arguments.
  4. Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors.
  5. Reviewers should also notify the Editor-in-Chief of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work known to them.
  6. Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the manuscript.

Editor Responsibilities

  1. The editorial board has full responsibility and authority to accept or reject submitted articles.
  2. Editors are responsible for the overall content and quality of the publication.
  3. Editors must always consider the needs of authors and readers when seeking to improve the publication.
  4. Editors must ensure the quality of manuscripts and the integrity of the academic record.
  5. Editors should publish corrections or errata when necessary.
  6. Editorial decisions should be based solely on the importance, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the scope of the publication.
  7. Editors should not reverse their decisions or overturn previous editorial decisions without serious reasons.
  8. Editors must preserve the anonymity of reviewers.
  9. Editors must ensure that all research materials they publish comply with internationally accepted ethical guidelines.
  10. Editors should only accept manuscripts when they are sufficiently confident about their quality and ethical compliance.
  11. Editors must take appropriate action if they suspect misconduct, whether the manuscript is published or unpublished, and make all reasonable efforts to resolve the issue.
