Focus and Scope
LUX ISLAMICA: Journal of Islamic Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the LP2I and the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Al-Qolam Malang (UQM), Graduate School of Universitas Al-Qolam Malang. The journal aims to promote scholarly discussions and disseminate high-quality research in the field of Islamic studies from interdisciplinary perspectives.
The journal prioritizes original research that contributes to the development of Islamic scholarship in both classical and contemporary contexts, particularly within social, cultural, educational, legal, and intellectual dimensions of Muslim societies.
The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Qur’anic Studies and Hadith Studies
Research on Qur’anic interpretation, ulum al-Qur’an, hadith studies, prophetic traditions, and contemporary approaches to Islamic textual studies. - Islamic Law and Legal Thought
Studies on fiqh, usul al-fiqh, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, fatwa studies, contemporary Islamic legal issues, and the application of Islamic law in modern societies. - Islamic Philosophy and Theology
Research on Islamic philosophy, kalam, intellectual traditions in Islam, and the interaction between Islamic thought and modern philosophical discourse. - Sufism and Islamic Spirituality
Studies on Islamic mysticism, spiritual ethics, Sufi traditions, and the role of spirituality in contemporary Muslim societies. - Islamic Education and Educational Management
Research related to Islamic educational thought, curriculum development, educational leadership, pesantren and madrasah studies, and innovation in Islamic education. - Islam, Politics, and Governance
