Publishing Workflow

Every manuscript follows the same online workflow in OJS:

  1. Submission. The author submits the manuscript online (see the Author Guidelines).
  2. Initial screening. The editors check the manuscript for scope, template, and originality (see the Plagiarism Policy).
  3. Peer review. The manuscript is reviewed by experts under the double-blind process.
  4. Editorial decision and revision. The editors decide to accept, request revision, or reject. Revised manuscripts are uploaded through the same system.
  5. Copyediting and production. Accepted articles are edited and typeset into the final PDF.
  6. Publication. The article is published online in its issue, receives a DOI, and is deposited for indexing and preservation.

Archiving and Digital Preservation

MAQASHID: Jurnal Hukum Islam is committed to the long-term preservation and permanent availability of all published research articles. To ensure digital preservation, the journal utilizes the following archiving strategy:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): Automatically archives published articles to ensure long-term preservation through the Open Journal Systems (OJS).
  • LOCKSS : The journal uses the LOCKSS systems to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, allowing those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration. The archival manifests are available at LOCKSS 
  • University Database: All published articles are archived and backed up in the database system of Universitas Al-Qolam Malang.
  • Self-Archiving: Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the published version (publisher's PDF) of their work in personal, institutional, or national repositories (such as GARUDA, Zenodo, or ResearchGate). See the Open Access Policy.
