Plagiarism Policy
English Language Teaching Journal (ELTJ) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin before proceeding to the peer-review process. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20% overall, with no more than 2% similarity from a single source.
A similarity score alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. The editorial team examines the similarity report to identify potential plagiarism, excessive paraphrasing, unattributed quotations, and other forms of improper source use.
Manuscripts that exceed the established similarity limits or contain suspected plagiarism may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the severity of the findings. Confirmed plagiarism may result in rejection or other appropriate editorial action.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, properly cite all sources, and comply with ethical standards of academic publishing. ELTJ reserves the right to conduct additional similarity checks whenever necessary to protect the integrity of the publication process.
